Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal
Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal is a senior member of the Hero Group and is responsible for developing growth strategy and implementation of new business plans for the Group. He was selected by ‘India Today’ – India’s largest English news-magazine, as one of the “Faces of the Millennium” for business. He is the Joint Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturing company and Chairman of Hero Corporate Service Private Limited, the Corporate office for the Hero Group. He is also the Managing Director of Hero Steels Limited, a steel processing unit based at Ludhiana. Mr. Munjal was President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier business association, for the year 2004-05. He continues to be actively involved in the Confederation’s various programs at a strategic and intellectual level, and heads the national council for economic policy. Mr. Munjal has made significant contributions to the economic reform process in India. He is currently a member of Prime Minister’s Council on Trade & Industry that regularly interacts with the Indian Prime Minister on economic issues. Mr. Munjal has also been involved in the preparation of a number of socio-economic reports in the areas of skill development, vocational training, CSR and tribal development. Mr. Munjal is the President of the Dayanand Medical College & Hospital managing society, Ludhiana (one of North India’s largest hospital cum medical colleges). He is also the President of the Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam, an organisation that promotes performing arts across North India. In addition, Mr. Munjal is involved in a number of other social and philanthropic activities.
Ms. Shefali Munjal
Ms. Shefali Munjal is a dynamic young business leader, social entrepreneur and a philanthropist.
In 2005, Shefali pioneered the Hero Group’s foray into insurance distribution; she has since transformed a modestly sized division that sold 5000 policies a month into a high growth enterprise that sold over 800,000 a month in 2017. The distribution business has sold 60 million plus policies, with more than 10 million policies sold in FY17 alone — a feat unparalleled in India’s insurance industry.
These efforts have won her a place in the a Businessworld list of Achievers Under 40.
Besides sustaining the growth of Hero Enterprise firms, Shefali is involved in developing futuristic and sustainable businesses that are profitable and socially meaningful and in also nurturing entrepreneurs with innovative business models and technologies that can become global in scale.
Shefali is passionate about levering business and management acumen for socially-relevant causes and leaving behind a legacy of responsible capitalism. Through the family office of Hero Enterprise, she is supporting startups that focus on digital learning, community transportation, healthcare, women empowerment and children’s education.
She is also a Trustee of Serendipity Arts Trust, a unique social project that aims to revive patronage in the arts and plays a pivotal role in designing and executing the Annual Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, India’s largest and most ambitious interdisciplinary arts festival. Shefali is also independently involved with “Delhi 10,000” — a charity that focuses on feeding people through annual events around the slums of the Delhi.
Shefali is a member of CII’s National Committee on Insurance & Pensions and a founding member of the CII Young Indians Council and the Delhi Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization.
Shefali’s strong business and social credentials stand on the bedrock of academics. She was a CBSE Class 12 topper, and is an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. She studied at Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and acquired her Masters in Science with Distinction from Warwick University UK. She also attended the Owner President Management Programs at Harvard Business School and Executive education at INSEAD.
Shefali is also an avid and accomplished photographer, and her work has been featured at prominent photography exhibitions in Delhi.
Mr. Suman Kant Munjal
Mr. Suman Kant Munjal is the Managing Director of Rockman Industries Ltd., one of the leading manufacturers of automotive Aluminum Die Casting components in India. Mr. Munjal, a graduate in Commerce from Punjab University, has been instrumental in transforming Rockman Industries Ltd. into a leading player in the die casting industry. Mr. Munjal started his career in Rockman Cycle Industries Limited in 1975, taking over the reigns as the CEO of the Company in 1983. Under his guidance and leadership, Rockman Industries became the World’s largest manufacturer of bicycle chains and hubs. Mr. Munjal established the Auto Components Division for Rockman in 1995 by manufacturing motorcycle chains and further diversified into the aluminium die-cast auto components space in the year 2000. Under his leadership the business has grown by leaps and bounds. Mr. Munjal is a member of the Board of Directors of the public listed company, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Mr. Munjal is a fine human being known to lead his Rockman employees as a family. He is involved in a number of philanthropic and cultural activities and actively contributes to many social causes.
Mr. Pradeep Dinoda
Mr. Pradeep Dinodia is the Designated Principal Partner at S.R. Dinodia & Co, LLP, Chartered Accountants, a member of the MGI Global Network. He looks after the
Corporate, Legal, FEMA, Company Law and Accounting and Direct Tax verticals. He is an expert in Direct Taxes and a Senior Counsel in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal in India. Mr. Dinodia has vast experience in corporate governance in large Indian corporates and is currently an independent Director in Hero Motocorp Ltd., DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd. JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., Shriram Piston & Rings Ltd., DFM Foods Ltd., Ultima Fininvest Ltd., SPR International Auto Exports Ltd., Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd and Hero Corporate Services Ltd.
Mr. Dinodia also chairs various committees in these companies, such as, the Audit, Remuneration, Shareholders Grievances, Corporate Governance Committees etc. He is also Chairman of Board of Directors of Shriram Piston & Rings Ltd.
Mr. Dinodia is a Graduate with Honors in Economics from St. Stephens’ College, Delhi University. He also holds a LL.B. degree from Delhi University. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also recipient of the R.V.K.Umarjee Gold Medal of the Institute. He has authored several papers and has been a key note speaker in various academic and scientific forums.
Recently he co-authored & published (October2013) a book “TRANSFER PRICING DEMYSTIFIED” with his daughter & partner Ms Pallavi Dinodia. This book has become an instant best seller and its first print was sold out within less than one month of its publication.
Mr. Ajay S. Shriram
Mr. Ajay S. Shriram is Chairman and Sr. Managing Director of DCM Shriram Limited and Chairman of its subsidiary company, Shriram Bioseed Ventures Ltd.
DCM Shriram and the group has a turnover of approx. Rs.6400 Crores. The business portfolio of the Group comprises of the following:
1. Agri Business: Urea & Phosphatic Fertilisers, Sugar, Farm Solution Business covering entire range of inputs, R&D based Hybrid Seeds, etc.
2. Chloro-Vinyl Business: Caustic Soda, Chlorine, Calcium Carbide, PVC Resin, PVC Compounds, Power and Cement.
3. Value Added Business: Fenesta Building Systems (UPVC-polymer Window and Door systems).
The Group’s R&D based Hybrid Seeds business has its presence in India, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia.
Post his schooling from The Doon School, Dehradun (India), Mr. Shriram obtained a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Sydenham College, Bombay. He attended various training & management development programs in India & overseas and participated in the “Programme for Management Development” (PMD) at the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
He is the Chairman of the Governing Body of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), a Trustee of SOS Children Villages of India and a Patron of Save the Children India.
He was President & Chairman of International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), Paris, (2009-11), Chairman, Agriculture Committee, International Fertilizer Industry Association, Paris (2003-05), Chairman, Fertilizer Association of India (2000-02), Member, Asian Food & Agribusiness Advisory Board, Asia, Rabobank International (2006-09), Member, Board of Governors, The Doon School, Dehradun (India) (2002-08), Member, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (India) (2002-07), Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi (India) (2003-06).
